Teacher Training

Wunlang Primary School and Secondary school are currently staffed by volunteers who are from Wunlang and neighboring villages. Most of these teachers are secondary school diploma holders and professional institute graduates who felt the need to educate the young children.

Wunlang village has no WiFi network, and technology has not yet been introduced to the school. The staff and students lack access to current information around the teaching and learning environment. This makes learning and teaching difficult for the teachers and students.

“We are only teaching students from our previous knowledge and the use of textbooks, we really need to attend skills’ workshops to enhance the teaching knowledge of teachers” says Peter Piol Maluil, head teacher of Wunlang Primary.

With this growing need, we are requesting donations to support the teachers by providing funds which will be used in facilitating teacher training workshops. The funds for this project will be used primarily to enable the teachers to go to Nairobi for teaching workshops, to purchase laptops for teachers to do research, and to provide teachers with access to  the internet for research.
