Water & Sanitation
Many remote villages still lack reliable sources of clean drinking water. The village of Malual Chum is one such village. The people currently get their water from a deep pit in the ground and other unsanitary sources. Such conditions result in on-going and chronic health issues, including high infant mortality and disease.
Although the primary focus for Village Help for South Sudan continues to be education and opportunity, clean water must come first for villages such as Malual Chum with so little hope for advancement until the community can address their clean drinking water needs.
Over the years since we began supporting villages in South Sudan, we have funded and facilitated the installation of more than six deep-drilled boreholes and water pumps. Now, with support from our donors, we hope to do the same for Malual Chum.
